May 1, 2011 Sunday Happy May's Day

Hi everyone,

Tomorrow, Sammy  will be getting his teeth cleaned at the Elkhorn Animal Hospital.  I have never done this with him before.  The vet says he needs his teeth cleaned, so I will start doing this every year.  I am worried about him going under again. I always worry.  When I had him neutered, I worried, but he was fine.  Well I know he will be in good hands.  The Elkhorn Animal Hospital is the best place and I feel safe with him there.
This is Panda Bear.  She is the most lovable dog we have ever owned.  I think she is Border collie and St Bernard.  This is what the vet has told us.  We think she is about 3 years old.  Sammy and Panda get along so well.  Panda weighs about 110 pounds.  She is pretty large.  We rescued her at the pound.  I have rescued several dogs at the pound.  Right now we only have the 2 dogs.

I usually have at least 3 dogs and one cat.   I really miss my cat.  She was a tabby and only wanted me.  When we brought home Sammy, she was getting old, I think she was around 14, and started having health problems.  Also having a young puppie was too much for her.  The vet said we had to put her down.  I cried for days.  I looked for a picture of her but cant find one right now.
We also had Nellie, she was a rat terrier that would follow me on my walks.  One day she stopped following us and I did not know what to do, so I went to the Nebraska Human Society and found her.  I had to wait 3 days to get her.  Then it was first come, so I got there early and waited until they would let me have her.
Victor was our rotweiler lab mix.  He was trained very well and I would trust my life to this dog.  I walked with him every day and I always felt safe.  We had to put him down when he was 12 years old.  He became very protective of our property and threated the meter reader.  My kids and I all cried for days over him.  We got Victor when my youngest was 4 years old.
Well, I will let you know how it goes for Sammy tomorrow at the vet.
